HALF-DAY LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE HOSTED BY
BROWARD COALITION ON AGING
DAVIE, FL - "The ...Tions of Leadership" is a
half-day conference hosted by Broward Coalition On Aging (BCOA) at Nova
Southeastern University Lifelong Learning Institute on Friday, April 13, 2012.
Open to the public, the conference will emphasize improving communication
skills, developing an effective plan for self-motivated action, and
facilitating positive change in the personal and professional aspects of one's
life.
"The conference is intended to serve the needs of both public and nonprofit
leaders as well as individuals who desire to make a positive difference in
their lives," said Laura Hoffman, BCOA Vice President/Leadership and
conference organizer.
The leadership conference presents three distinguished motivational professionals:
Action Planning: Bonnie Bonomo is Program and Outreach Director for Leeza's Place at Memorial Hospital, Pembroke Pines. Bonomo, a follower of iconic leaders regarding communication, will talk about identifying the ways we communicate with others, the importance of not infusing your own perceptions, and how to put leadership skills into action.
Motivation Techniques: Andre Boykin is Managing Partner in Capital iDEA. He is
a national and international speaker, trainer and facilitator focusing on
maximizing the productivity of leadership in organizations. His presentation,
"The Five Cees of Winning Posture," offers techniquesformotivation, and
illustrates how you "show up" to others.
Communication Skills: Cecilia F. Rokusek, Ed.D., R.D., is Executive Director,
Geriatric Resources, Education, and Training Center at NSU. She has held
leadership roles on the local, state and national levels. In addition to her
presentation, she also serves as conference moderator.
The conference will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and will include
breakfast and lunch. The cost is $25.00 per person. The event will take place
at NSU Lifelong Learning Institute, 3424 S. University Drive, Davie. To

Broward Coalition On Aging is a nonprofit networking organization open to
professionals and business leaders addressing the issues of aging and serving
the senior population in Broward County. BCOA holds breakfast meetings on the
second Thursday of every month at 8:00 a.m. at Garden Plaza Inverrary,
